Laser Hair Removal – The Cost

30 settembre, 2010 (23:00) | Laser Hair Removal/IPL costs | By: GuestPoster

Hair in the right places can be used to express our personality, beautify ourselves, and ultimately, define our identity, but hair in the wrong places can be embarrassing at best, and disgusting at worst. And while there are many ways to remove hair, many of these are short term and temporary. People who wish to get a more long-term, even permanent solution, will often think of laser hair removal. But laser hair removal cost can be too high for many, which is why it is important to try and reduce its cost as much as possible, without sacrificing quality. But how can this be done?

The cost of laser hair removal, first of all, is not constant. While there are averages in the industry, there is no one price. This is an indication that people can find the best deal for them, if they know where to look, and how to get them.

A good way to get a reduction in laser hair removal costs is by availing of bundles. Many would think that getting multiple, smaller hair removal treatments would save them money, but in reality, in the long run, it would cost more. Planning ahead and getting all your desired areas treated can save you a bundle of money, especially if there are specific promo packages offered.

Doing some PR with your chosen clinic or facility can be very good as well. Instead of just asking, “How much does laser hair removal cost?”, you can do well to also subscribe to the facility’s website’s mailing list, participate in forums, and even comment on their deals and promos. Some facilities value this kind of participation, and may extend more discounts and additions to you.

And lastly, which can be added once some PR work has been done, if you are an owner of a business or establishment, you can offer what’s called an “X-deal”, a trade of sorts between your business and the clinic. This will require some very good rapport with the clinic’s proprietors, but once established, can, not only produce savings and discounts for future treatments, but also establish a very good personal and business connection that can be beneficial for both parties.

These tips need not all be followed, but for those that can, it can yield very good reductions in the cost for laser hair removal, making you lose more hair than money!

Let’s Talk About The Cost of Laser Hair Removal

28 settembre, 2010 (03:01) | Laser Hair Removal/IPL costs | By: GuestPoster

A lot of people who are thinking about having laser hair removal done, never take the plunge because they are afraid to find out how much the cost of laser hair removal actually as.  This article will discuss the price of laser hair removal along with some helpful tips about getting better prices on the procedures.

Factor number one in determining the price of laser hair removal is the area that you want to have treated.  If you are a woman with a little bit of hair on her upper lip that she would rather not be there, it just makes sense that you will pay less than a man who has a very hairy back that wants it removed with lasers.

Yet another factor is your geographic location.  In most cases, laser hair removal clinics that are located in parts of the country where more affluent people live, will charge more for the procedure than laser hair removal clinics where fewer affluent people live.  For example you’ll pay more for laser hair removal in Los Angeles California than you might in Salt Lake City Utah.

If you choose to go to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon that doesn’t do a lot of laser hair removal and simply offers laser hair removal as a side service to their customers, you will pay more for the procedure than if you went to a specialty clinic like a laser hair removal clinic that is well equipped to handle and many customers.

Okay, here’s the first tip that I have for getting laser hair removal at a better price.  When you can, always have your laser hair removal performed during the slow time of the year.  Most laser hair removal clinics don’t do as much business during the winter months.  If you have the procedure done during the winter months when these laser hair removal clinics aren’t doing  as much business, they will often discount their rates to attract wintertime customers.

Another way you might be able to save money is if you can arrange for a group discount.  This may sound silly but if you talk to the laser hair removal clinic and ask them if you can get 10 of your friends to come in for the service if they would offer a special rate, many times they will say yes.

Two Types of Permanent Hair Removal

Permanent hair removal is supposed to mean forever but unfortunately, some hair removal methods are not successful.  These techniques often only check for regrowth after nine weeks, which is far too short to determine permanent results.  While this may seem adequate, its fault is the fact that hair growth is cyclical and nine weeks is not long enough.

Three hairs exist in each hair follicle and each hair grows to a length that is predetermined by the persons genetic heritage.  Once the hair has grown to its maximum length it will go into a resting stage for a few months.  At this point the second hair will begin growing and push the ‘resting’ hair out of the follicle.  This normal pattern of hair growth is responsible for waxing failing as a permanent hair removal method.  Generally waxing will only last about nine weeks.

Most permanent hair removal techniques that advertise themselves as permanent will often only last about a year or maybe a bit more. Of course treating your unsightly hair problem once a year is still a more convenient solution than the more traditional methods like waxing, shaving and plucking.  Luckily, with the medical advancements in hair removal there are now two methods that are considered permanent.

When you destroy the hair follicles ability to regrow hair you can consider the event permanent.  Electrolysis, when done correctly, will have this effect.  There are two main types of permanent hair removal – electrolysis and laser hair removal.

Electrolysis is the method of passing a tiny needle into the hair follicle and destroying it with either direct or alternating electrical current.  The electric current is passed down a metal rod that is covered with a conductive gel or cream and is held by the patient as it destroy the hair follicle.   This is a time consuming procedure because it can take a minute or longer for each follicle.  Even with the long period for each follicle, this process will need to be repeated at 6-8 week intervals to ensure a permanent solution.

IPL hair removal is also considered permanent and with its advanced technology is considered a better alternative to electrolysis.  The heat from the laser will destroy the hair follicles without harming any skin or other tissues.  This type of hair removal must also be completed over a course of 6-10 sessions placed about 6-9 weeks apart.

While the ultimate decision will be based on your confidence in your treatment center, it may also come down to pricing.  The average laser hair removal cost, per session, is around $456 and when you multiply that by 6-10 sessions you can see how quickly it adds up.  While the alternative is not cheap it is a more affordable alternative albeit with a reduced success percentage.
